Tajikistan.A Beautiful Cental Asian Republic
Tajikistan is a republic in Central Asia. It is a landlocked country. It borders, China, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
It is a mountainous country. Almost 93% of the country is occupied by mountains. The Pamirs region includes Somoni Peak, the 7th highest mountain in the world. This used to be called 'Communist Peak' but I think it has been renamed after King Somoni, a Tajik King. This region is called 'The Top of the World.'
About half of the country lies at an elevation of 3,000m. For this reason only about 7% of Tajikistan's land area is arable.
The country is an artists and photographers paradise. I have been able to take beautiful photographs of the mountains. Tajik people, Dushanbe and the republic's historical places. Let me be your guide as I take you around Tajikistan.
