Schooling
Tajik children have 9 years of schooling. School starts at 7 and ends when a student is 17. There are some 674,600 primary places. In secondary School there are more than 652,700. There are around 125,100 students attending higher education and university courses. The 1994 - 1995 educational budget was 11.2% of the gross domestic product. Dushanbe has an international school for expat and Tajik children. There is a Kindergarten, Infant, Primary and Secondary departments.

Culture
The Tajikistan culture is historical and it has been able to retain its traditions into the 21st century. There are many festivals held throughout the year and many Tajik people wear their national costumes to celebrate these events

There are two kinds of traditional Tajik music. There is the music of the mountain people and those who live on the plains and along the river valleys.
